Taxes

There are some in Congress who wish to increase taxes on American families and businesses, so that more money can be spent on Washington programs. We must fight against irresponsible indulgence; taking more from taxpayers does not create jobs or grow prosperity. We need to keep taxes low so our small businesses can invest and create new jobs and so American taxpayers can keep more of their hard-earned money. But more importantly, we need to reform our tax system so that it is more fair and simpler to understand. It says something about our priorities when we continue to add on to a complicated tax code that contains over 1.6 million words, nearly 380 times more than the number of words in the Constitution!
